Shaw Academy Review

Shaw Academy has a huge selection of tens and thousands of graduates, and a lot of skills that millions of people have learned.

They feature a number of courses from digital marketing to photography (which had 1.5M+ graduates during the time of writing this), so clearly something has to be working, right?

Well, not too much.

The net likes to vilify plenty of things. It's type of a web user pastime, not that it should be. Shaw Academy had some issues in the past, but does that define them today?

We wanted to cover sets from their services to the allegations, and ask the hard question: is Shaw Academy still worth it?

What is Shaw Academy?

Shaw Academy is an on the web learning platform designed to help you develop skills in several job-related skills, creative talents, or useful technical skills that you should use to entirely switch careers.

The target is to learn at your own pace, or even to subscribe and teach skills to employees in the event that you work within an organization. Through mobile use, interactive courses, and resource delivery, they aim to supply a full all-in-one online education experience.

How Does It Work?

Based on their website, it's as easy as selecting a course, attending 2 classes per week, completing the necessary tests and exams, and having your certificate.

The website has a set of each of their diplomas and courses offered to take. Being an added incentive, first-time members are offered 4 weeks of free courses. 4 weeks is the conventional amount of a course. Quite simply, one course is on Shaw!

At this time, maybe you are wondering, how are courses run?

Well, they use a proprietary learning platform called Phoenix. It delivers the lessons, manages assignments, and administers examinations. Pretty much exactly like regular schooling – simply schedule a lesson from their options, and you're set.

Classes are normally last for about an hour or so and are advertised to be live recordings. But as you have seen in the video, this isn't the case.  On the plus side, these modules can be found for viewing later, alleviating any time-zone or commitment issues.

But there is a catch:

You can't rewind the video although it is playing (since they said it was “live”). So in case you miss a percentage of the lesson for reasons uknown, you then have to attend and soon you finish the entire course. In this way, you can return and rewatch it.

Shaw Academy: Worth Your Time?

Initially, when I was making this review, I wrote the next:

“I would say that Shaw Academy is worth it in 2021. Would I say the exact same for a few years back?

Probably not. Shaw Academy has come a long way and done what they will have throughout most of the allegations, and even though little bit of flak (which internet searches will always remind you of), they provide a good value.”

It should be noted that Trustpilot—a leading resource for the trustworthiness of websites, businesses, and apps—has recently accused Shaw Academy of intentionally leading customers to leave overwhelmingly positive reviews.

This can be a practice that most major companies use; they tell customers to leave reviews for them, you even get a quick on the receipt you obtain when you buy a cup of coffee. However, there is a difference between asking someone to complete a survey, and asking someone to strictly complete an overwhelmingly positive survey.

Shaw Academy is accused, by the community, of specifically preying on non-English speaking students, and while we personally didn't encounter that issue, there's enough recent, ongoing information online to claim that there could be some truth to that.

At EdWize, I only desire to give you the very best resources. I wrote this review specifically so you understand the risks, but the last verdict is this: Shaw Academy is not worth your profit 2021. The educational content is good, but the business is horrible.
